Xiaojia Wang, the Counsellor of the Chinese Consulate in Melbourne attended and gave a speech at the Forum. The member of Australia Federal Government, Mr. Michael Sukkar, former Speaker of Victoria and Chairman of the China Annual Organizing Committee, Ken Smith, the Chairman of the Australian Royal Exposition, Mark O'Sullivan, the CEO of Australia International Trade Association & Associates (AITA), Mr. Michael Guo, the non-executive director of China-Australian Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd, Kelin He and others also attended the Forum.
The member of Australia Federal Government , Mr. Michael Sukkar gave a passionate speech at the launching ceremony of the Shanxi Brand Silk Road (Australia Station). Mr. Sukkar said he was very pleased to participate in such an event that will further deepen the relations between Shanxi and Melbourne. The mutual trust between the trading partners of China and Australia is based on integrity. Only when the people on both sides cooperate with each other can the trade relations between China and Australia be further developed. Mr. Sukkar particularly emphasized that after seeing the friendship between two countries, he was even more confident in determining the closer cooperation between the two countries in the future and congratulating Shanxi's enterprises on their prosperity. Yixin Wang addressed in his speech that, in recent years, the economic and trade exchanges between Australia and Shanxi are getting closer and closer. In 2015, Australia was the eighth largest trading partner and the second largest source of import of Shanxi Province. He was hoping the Shanxi Brand Silk Road Activity to open a window for accelerating understanding of Shanxi Province for Australia's friends and establishing a bridge of mutual cooperation between the two sides.
